New shows including “Fringe,” “Knight Rider” and “90210” will be fighting for viewers this season, while sophomore series like “Chuck” and “Pushing Daisies” return to the schedule after being off the air for several months, due to the writers strike.

Also, this season will be the last for such network anchors as “Boston Legal” on ABC and “ER” on NBC. Shows also will be channel-hopping, as “Friday Night Smackdown!” moves from The CW to MyNet and “Scrubs” transfers from NBC to ABC.
