Gary Carter, president of Creative Networks and chief operating officer of FremantleMedia’s FMZ, and Web content creator Ze Frank will give a joint keynote address at Mipcom 2008 on Oct. 14.

Their keynote, “A Million Dying Flowers: Popularity, the Network and the Next Big Thing,” will explore the difference between old and new media.

Mr. Frank has made his name on the Web as a viral Web content creator and through his personal site, zefrank.com, which received a Webby Award. He hosts daily video blog “The Show.”

“I am delighted to welcome original talents like Ze Frank and Gary Carter to Mipcom because their way of tackling new sources of creativity is stimulating for all participants. Creativity remains the key to success, particularly in a world where the public has ever more power to choose and interact,” Paul Johnson, director of television at Reed Midem, said in a statement. Reed Midem produces the international audiovisual content market, held in October in Cannes.
