NBC is planning a major multiplatform push for "The NBC Primetime Preview," a half-hour special designed to hype the Peacock's new programming.
The network said Tuesday that it will syndicate the special to all of its 232 local stations and its vast array of cable holdings, including USA, Sci Fi, Bravo, Oxygen, MSNBC, CNBC, Chiller and Sleuth. In addition, the show will be available for on-demand Internet streaming via NBC.com as well as local stations' Web sites.
NBC also has struck a deal with United Airlines, which plans to air the preview show on select flights. The network will make the show available for broadcast or streaming from Aug. 30 through Sept. 28.
Zachary Levi ("Chuck") hosts "The NBC Primetime Preview," which includes appearances by Christian Slater, Molly Shannon and Selma Blair, all of whom star in new NBC shows. Actors from several returning NBC series also will pop up during the show.
All of NBC's new fall series—"Knight Rider," "Kath and Kim," "America's Toughest Jobs," "My Own Worst Enemy" and "Robinson Crusoe"—will get a moment in the spotlight during the preview program.
The special was produced by the NBC Agency.

Sure wish NBC would get over its tiff with Apple and put it on iTunes for free. It'd be a lot easier and offer better quality as an on-demand source, and I'll bet it would be watched by a lot of people. They're cutting off their nose to spite their face. Feh.
