The Commission on Presidential Debates is tapping Jim Lehrer of PBS’ "The NewsHour," Gwen Ifill, the host of PBS’ "Washington Week," Tom Brokaw, special correspondent for NBC News, and Bob Schieffer, CBS News Washington correspondent, to host the four presidential and vice presidential debates.
Mr. Lehrer will host the first presidential debate Sept. 26 to be held at the University of Mississippi in Oxford. That debate will be on domestic policy.
Ms. Ifill will host the vice presidential debate Oct. 2 at Washington University in St. Louis.
Mr. Brokaw will host the second presidential debate Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, which is being billed as a town meeting and will mostly feature questions from residents of the Nashville area.
Mr. Schieffer will host the final debate on Oct. 15 at Hofstra University in New York City. It is supposed to focus on foreign policy.

Hofstra University is not and never had been in New York City. It is in Nassau County.

impressive handling of the vp debate by gwen ifill. is there a way to verify the figures given by biden and palin that each contradicts? like how many times mccain and obama voted on such and such bills and more? we need to know who is telling the truth! the people need to be told the truth!!! please research and post in the dailies!!!

what I witnessed in the vp debate was an incredible performance of a beautiful movie star who skillfully delivered her lines from a script to the satisfaction of her directors; or that of a student who crammed for a difficult exam and came out with flying colors. well.... still, right-thinking americans know what's behind the mask. she's not presidential material... so,please make her exit from the stage! have pity on the american nation!!!let mccain go with her... retire and take care of your ailing body!

An overarching question for Brokaw to the Presidential candidates should be: "What is your plan to eliminate America's dependence on foreign oil, and how quickly can we get started?".

Based on the Meet The Press show of Sept 28, T Brokaw does not deserve to be the moderator. Discussions between the two candidates for Colorado senator got out of line and Brokaw refused to step in. Very poor control of the situation.
