UTA Promotes Secunda, Gates to TV Posts

Hollywood agency UTA promoted Ruthanne Secunda and Nancy Gates to the newly created positions of co-heads of TV talent.

Ms. Secunda and Ms. Gates were given the titles in recognition of their contributions to the department and their role in growing the division, UTA said. The agency currently has over 100 actor deals in network and cable television.

"Ruthanne and Nancy are respected throughout the industry for their outstanding taste in both talent and material, and their ability to propel artists to the tops of their craft," talent dept. co-head and UTA board member Tracey Jacob said in a statement. "Their leadership in the television talent area is a major asset to UTA's continuing growth and success."

UTA's TV talent roster includes William Baldwin ("Dirty Sexy Money"), Sarah Chalke ("Scrubs"), Jon Cryer ("Two and a Half Men"), Masi Oka ("Heroes"), William Petersen ("CSI") and Patrick Dempsey ("Grey's Anatomy").

Ms. Secunda has been at UTA since 1996, having previously worked at 3 Arts and Abrams Artists. She launched the latter company's comedy division.

Ms. Gates also joined UTA in 1996, starting out in the agency's agent training program. She was promoted to agent two years later.
