Verizon, NFL Network Partner for ‘Extra’ Content

Verizon and NFL Network are teaming to bring NFL Network Game Extra to Verizon’s video and wireline broadband customers beginning Aug. 17.

Viewers will be able to watch live, online broadcasts of NFL Network pre-season and Thursday Night Football games. Subscribers will have access to live audio feeds, in addition to the ability to select from multiple camera feeds or view all the angles at once.

NFL Network Game Extra also will feature live online chats with other viewers during live games, game statistics, highlights, drive-chart simulations and special events, such as college bowl games and college all-star games.

“NFL Network Game Extra represents the kind of online, collaborative experience Verizon FiOS TV and broadband customers expect,” Bill Heilig, vice president of Verizon consumer broadband product development, said in a statement. “Once again, access to NFL Network Game Extra will expand customers’ already rich television viewing through a highly interactive, online experience that gives them unprecedented control over what they see and hear on the field, plus the ability to take the action with them wherever they go.”
