Chart: Most Watched Shows in African American Households, Week of Sept. 1

The highest-rated shows in African American households feature sports, according to figures from Nielsen Media Research. Just as with general audiences, football is king. But African Americans also were big viewers of the U.S. Open, won by Serena Williams in the women’s bracket. Among prime-time shows, African Americans were particularly keen on “Hole in the Wall” and “America’s Next Top Model” and not so big on “Deal or No Deal.” The top 10 list follows.
