NBC, Discovery, G4 Put Shows on VCast
Verizon Wireless is working with major TV programmers to add several new channels to its VCast video service, the company announced Wednesday.
NBC Universal, Discovery Communications and Comcast’s G4 all said they are going mobile on VCast.
Verizon customers will be able to watch full-length episodes of shows from a variety of NBC Universal networks on their VCast phones. Titles include “30 Rock,” “The Office,” “Kath and Kim,” “The Starter Wife,” “Ghost Hunters” and “Gemini Division.”
Discovery will have new VCast channels for TLC, Animal Planet, Planet Green and Discovery Kids, each offering a selection of clips from shows on the cable networks.
The new G4 channel on VCast will offer segments from its young-male-oriented series such as “Attack of the Show” and “X-Play,” as well as some of its content originally created for the Web.
Comcast’s E! Entertainment network already has a channel on VCast.
