‘View’ Sees Strong Ratings in 12th-Season Return

“The View’s” 12th-season premiere week reached new highs for ABC daytime, helping the network rank at the top of the list of broadcast daytime TV ratings among female viewers 18 to 49 years old for the week of Sept. 1. The network placed first with an average 1.3 rating and 830,000 viewers in that age group.

Last week’s season opener of the talk series improved by 3% over the year-ago debut and ranks as “The View’s” second-best season premiere behind 2000-01 among women 18-49. Musical guests New Kids on the Block helped the episode reach a 1.4 rating in its key demographic, giving “The View” its most-watched episode in six weeks.

Among women 18-49, NBC come in second for the week with a 1.2 rating/761,000 viewers, followed by CBS with a 1.1 rating/722,000 viewers.

In terms of total daytime viewers, CBS topped the list, averaging 3.45 million viewers for the week. ABC followed in second with an average of 2.77 million viewers, with NBC in third with 2.55 million viewers.
