Oxygen's Makeover of Quizfarm.com Stokes Traffic

Oxygen Media has given the Web site it acquired, Quizfarm.com, a makeover that it says has already increased page views by 200%.

Quizfarm is a social site built around creating and answering quizzes about popular culture and personal interests. It has been given a new look that reflects Oxygen’s branding and features have been added that make it easier for users to share quizzes and results on other social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook, according to Jennifer Kavanagh, VP of digital and new media at Oxygen.

The site will also feature quizzes for fans of programming on Oxygen that will help promote the television network, Ms. Kavanagh said.

Quizfarm, acquired before NBC Universal acquired Oxygen, now has 500,000 users and 250,000 quizzes. Last week, the first full week after the relaunch, it generated 2.6 million page views, a 200% increase from the average of the previous four weeks, the network said, pointing to traffic statistics from Omniture SiteCatalyst. Unique users rose 10%.

Overall, Oxygen says its digital properties are gaining ground, with Oxygen.com notching its best quarter ever with 51.8 million page views, up 193% from the second quarter. Oxygen says users were drawn by microsites for TV shows such as “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood” and “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency.”
