As part of a growing trend to measure online audiences in a more detailed fashion, Disney-ABC Television Group said it is rolling out online measurement tools from Quantcast across its Web properties, including for its full-episode player on ABC.com.
The deal will let ABC measure its audience makeup and characteristics online, giving the media company a clearer idea of who’s watching which videos on the Web.
ABC said it will use the Quantcast tools on ABC.com, ABCNews.com, ABCFamily.com and SoapNet.com.
The “direct-measurment service” lets ABC access “better measurement and audience insights,” Peter Seymour, executive VP of strategy and research at Disney Media Networks, said in a statement. That’s key in a recession when advertisers are eager for data that proves the value of an advertising buy.

We've used Quantcast for several months now on our largest website and are very satisfied with this measurement system. In-house marketers as well as website visitors and potential advertisers can access demographic and statistical data from the Quantcast banner our IT Department placed at the bottom of the website's homepage.
