Spike TV Taps Black as Video Game Awards Host

Jack Black will host Spike TV’s 2008 Video Game Awards, airing Dec. 14.

The live HD broadcast will feature previews of games coming out in 2009, including the world premiere of Brütal Legend gameplay from designer Tim Schafer and Double Fine Productions.

Other games set to make their global debut are gameplay of the PlayStation 3 exclusive God of War III, Uncharted 2, EA’s Sports Fight Night Round 4, Mafia II, Terminator Salvation and Watchmen: The End Is Nigh.

A special announcement will be made about Gears of War 2.

Game designer Will Wright will receive the inaugural Gamer God award.
