Being a teacher who has been put in charge of figuring out how my small school of 230 students will be able to watch the inauguration together, your on-line coverage has made my job easier. Technology willing I will be able to project it on a large screen from a labtop that has access to the internet. If there is anything I need to know as I attempt to make this happen please give me a heads up if possible.
Thank you again.

Marsha,
I'm the Tech Manager for a public charter in St.Louis,Missouri and have gotten several request for the same coverage. If I read the article right it says that the Web coverage will not be available until the 21st. Are you planning on your showing for that day or are you wanting live coverage? If you find out I would like to for you to share your findings.

Like Marsha, I am a teacher at a small school. We don't have cable television, but we do have the capacity to use laptop, data projector, and the Internet, so the teachers at my school were hoping to use that same method for viewing the inauguration. Ideally, we would love to see live coverage. Will that be possible? We're on the west coast.
Thanks,

We also would like to show at our school, where we have access to the net but not to television. Please provide live web coverage!
Kate
Yes, please provide live internet coverage! I'll be at work with no other access!
Kate
I just read that cspan.org will be airing it live on the Web.
Mike
I just called C-SPAN and talked to an actual person, who told me that, yes, they will be streaming it live on the Web. And their live stream really isn't that bad in terms of quality.
Shareen
Thanks to Mike and Kate for finding out that C-SPAN will be a live stream. So, the technical question for our school is how to get that live stream from a laptop to a big screen for about 100 people to see. Anyone know how that is done?
Erin
Shareen, you need a projector and adaptor cord for your type of computer (mac/pc) That way yopu can project onto large screen. With the laptop plugged in and the projector on, it will project whatever is currently on the computer screen (like live video) Hope that helps! I plan on doing the same. Also, all the regular channels like CBS and ABC will also be showing live coverage. You can hook the projector into the TV and project Television image as well! Just hook up the cables as you would to a DVD player.
Jeff
I am so glad CBS is providing the live internet coverage. I am a teacher in a small school---we do have laptops and Smartboards in our classrooms so we are going to connect and watch CBS with its beautiful coverage. many thanks-Jeff

When projecting from a laptop, get a VGA to VGA cable to connect it to the projecter. Mac's require adapter. On PC press Fn-F9 or which ever one triggers the external display setting. you may have to cycle through it 2-3x to display both pc and projecter. macs, go to displays, and press detect displays

Thanks to all for helping those persons who are not as tech savvy as we should be. Our school does have cable but only in the library which is not large enough to accomodate the 750 students at our school. I did plan to either use the LCD projector or sit in with one of the teachers who do have smartboards. The public school systems in the US really need to catch up with the current technology. We need to be kept up to date if we are to be as effective as possible when teaching the young minds of our future.

You've answered ALL of my questions! Thank you to everyone to did the footwork for the rest of us in the classroom! I don't want my little second graders to miss out on this historic event!
Lyle
Not very helpful. Obviously there will be full coverage. What doesn't seem to be posted is a schedule of what will be covered when for those who can flex their personal schedule but not devote the entire day glued to a television.
Tracey
When will the live broadcast begin?
Marsha
As already stated thank you to those who did further footwork. I wasn't expecting so many responces since I last checked this site but to add to what has already been mentioned you can find a schedule of the whole event at http://voices.washingtonpost.com/inauguration-central/?hpid=topnews
Also I noticed that CBSnews.com will start streaming from 9 - 5 from the 19 - 21 but a co-woker has told me that MPR is also streaming the broadcast and it is good quality when he checked it out last week. I hope this has been helpful.
8 days left.

my co-workers and I really wanted to participate in such an historical event. we work in a small law office and we all are interested in watching it live!!! Thanks for all the information for those of you who have made the calls. This will bring us all together in one place at the moment we watch a new president sworn into office. What a great opportunity!!!!
Dolores
I also wanted to watch the inauguration however my technology is very limited. I do not have a projector and could not get the television to work with an antennae is there any other way?
Pamela
Thanks for the searching. To recap CBSNEWS.com and CSPAN.org are the 2 most reliable web spots for LIVE broadcast of the Inaguration. Is that correct? thanks
Matt
CNN will also be airing live coverage online. Just go to cnn.com/live.

What a bunch of pompus asses. The people want to see the new president Obama. But you asses have to drive your vans right along side the presidential limo, blocking the view.
