I am so looking forward to this show, having been a fan of Dr. Oz before he appeared on Oprah, and I have 5 of his books, most of which are co-authored by Dr. Roizen, whom I also admire.

I first heard of Dr. Oz when I saw him featured in a TV special at least 8 or 9 years ago, before any of the "You" books books came out. I forget if it was 60 Minutes. It may even have been a 2-part mini-series on doctors who are on the cutting edge, if I remember correctly. The point of the show was to herald his new techniques and innovations in cardiology. I would love to know what show this was and hope it can be shown again. Would you be able to track this down? I've tried google but this TV show does not come up. Maybe you can ask Dr. Oz himself?

DR.Oz, My comment is for my sister Ora-Jean who suffers from Lymphotema. She can top any photos you ever saw on the subject in medical text books. She is suffering terribly with open sores and fluid daily oozing from her legs. Her legs are so big and filled with fluid she can't lift them and shuffled to walk. She either finds people in the medicine field who either aren't interested or doesn't have a clue what to do with her. Then she will get some who comes in thinking they can squeese the fluid out of her and does more harm.

She could one day loose her legs. Would you look at her. I will be glad to send you photos her home care nurse took of her which showed her condition as well as how she came out worse after being in the hospital.

I pray one day they will research this problem and there will be a cure.

Please help if you can. Even if she can't be helped maybe bringing attention to her condition could lead to much needed research.

To Dr. Oz, Would you please do a show on orthomolecular medicine? In case you've never heard of it, it means treating patients who have psychiatric problems by actually running lab tests on them(something traditional psychiatrists don't do), then rebalancing their biochemistry with nutritional medicine (also something not done in traditional psychiatry). Ortho-m doctors will still give the patient synthetic medications like tranquilizers if they need to be stabilized. I'm Margaret Le Roux 50 years of age from South Africa, I went to my Ginacologist and told me that I was in my menopause for at least 10years now and they thought that it was depresion. I'm currently using Phytopause made by a company called Pharma Dynamics. I also left my antidepressants cold turkey and felt a lot better as it did not work with me at all for 7 years. Would you recomend this product I'm using, it is a natural soya extract as far as I know. I have asked my GP and Pharmasist about Bioidentical Hormone treatments but they have no clue what that is, could you shed some light on to that subject. I have had 3 macular proceedures and have still not regained sight for reading. I also still have a lot of pain in my eye. I warched your programme with two brothers, one who is ab eye doctor, and the other in computers.
I live and work in Taiwan, and would like to know if there is a study going on here. I have nothing to lose in taking part in a study of this kind, and am very interested, as I would dearly like to try. I am losing vision in the other eye, as I have a slight hole in the macular as well. I am much too afraid to risk further surgery for fear of losing my vision entirely.

oz is a bit of a phony who is trying to cash in on the public interest in yoga etc. I saw his yoga on the show this am--total joke. Can you please talk about arthritis and how to have surgery and who should have surgery. I have had arthritis since 2006 and suffer pain and stiffness almost every day. I was hurt on the job in 2006 and retired the same year. I was told to have surgery but am afraid due to the fact that I have been told that the recovery time in lengthy. Would you please consider having a show cover the topic of sugars, the dangers of it (cancer causing) and just as important what we can do to eliminate it by utilizing substitutes. Substitutes can also be misleading. I know of a lady in Florida that has a website and has Sugar problems. She has studied it for over 20 years due to own health problems. I've asked if she would consider speaking on your show. She is non profit and every time I'm on Google her site comes up and I have found solutions to my problems. Also to cover the importance of NON-PROCESSED foods. The importance of Lifestlye changes.

I would like some clarification on a recent program that my friend told me about that she saw on the Discovery Health Network. That sugar some how is not bad for our kids? I didn't see it for myself, but I find this hard to believe. From what I know, sugar can create a poor flora enviournment in our gut, this can lead to immunity problems and all sorts of complications. That stable blood sugar creates well-being and that spikes and dips are bad for our bodies. Also, when I speak of sugar, I'm talking about all refined carbohydrates. She said something about the caffine levels in candy causing hyper-activity in children. That does not seem possible unless they're drinking coke, because the actual cocoa content of standard chocolate bars kids eat is very low, or minimal. Please reply to clarify this for me. I have been suffering with Fibromyalgia
since 1994 I was 40 And my husband and I tried to get pregnant thourgh in vitro fertilzation It did not work and I was left with daily chronic pain and more fatigue than I cluld stand I am at home and disabled by this disease I sure hope I dont have xmrv. I am a 48-year-old female. I was diagnosed with Type B influenza yesterday. I received the flu shot in November of this year. I also had Type B influenza in February of this year. On Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, I started with what I thought was a cold or allergy symptoms: nasal congestion, slight sore throat, and some coughing. I went to my husband's Christmas party and probably infected several people unknowingly. Saturday morning, I felt really bad. I had body aches, a low-grade fever of 100, a sore throat, coughs, facial pain, slight nausea, and no appetite. I stayed in bed all day. Sunday morning, I was determined to go to church, so I took some Sinus Tylenol and Motrin and went. Considering I am a medical assistant, you would think I would know better. My low-grade fever returned as the Motrin wore out. Monday morning, I went to the medical office I work at and was swabbed for the flu. Yep: I was Type B positive. I also have a sinus infection, so I was prescribed Omnicef. Today, I still have a lot of nasal congestion, hoarseness, coughing, but I feel "slightly" better. I was told to stay out of work for a week, but we’ll see how that goes.

It is great to discover something well worth looking at. Looks like everybody is starting a web site and tossing up whatever pops into their mind. Usually it does not make superior sense. I am pleased to determine that shouldn't be the case here.
