Schram Slated to Return to ‘Monk’
Bitty Schram will return for a guest appearance during the eighth and final season of USA Network’s “Monk.”
Ms. Schram was an original cast member on the show, playing Mr. Monk’s nurse Sharona Fleming. She last appeared during season three.
“Monk” began production this week in Los Angeles. The new season is expected to start airing on USA this summer.

Wonder if they're adapting "Mr. Monk and the Two Assistants," the fourth novel that pretty much wrapped up Sharona's storyline and giving Monk closure he never had with her.

She was the best! Not quite the same show after she left.

No it wasn't the same show, it was BETTER! I think the show struggled with Traylor's character for awhile but she is a much more well-rounded character than Sharona and seemed more caring.
I think the last two seasons of the show were the best since the first couple. The ones in the middle became to formulaic, but I think they recaptured the magic in Seasons 6 & 7.
