Spike Captures MoCap From Web

The latest series to move from the Web to cable TV is “MoCap, LLC,” which is coming to Spike TV with six original episodes starting April 24.
“MoCap, LLC” looks at the people who work at a low-rent motion-capture studio looking to make it big in the video game industry.
The series is produced by Worldwide Biggies, the production company started by Albie Hecht, who was the first president of Spike.
“Spike TV is the perfect partner for us to translate the attitude of the ‘MoCap, LLC’ Web series into a hit TV series,” said Mr. Hecht, who is creator and executive producer of “MoCap, LLC.” “The Web series has proven to have a large cult following and we are confident Spike’s audience will fall in love with this subversive, smart yet ridiculous comedy.”
The show is designed to fit in with Spike’s video game-oriented programming aimed at young men.
“As the preeminent destination for video games on television with the success of our weekly series ‘GameTrailers TV’ and the annual Video Game Awards, we see ‘MoCap, LLC’ as yet another way of super-serving the gaming audience in a distinct new way,” noted Spike TV President Kevin Kay.
The series stars a group of performers and writers with late-night TV backgrounds, led by Chris DeLuca, who has written for shows including “The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn,” “Best Week Ever,” “The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson” and “The 2008 Spike Video Game Awards.” He also had a guest segment on Fuse’s “The Sauce” that was based on his blog WhatSucksBlog.com.
“MoCap, LLC” also has a companion game online, MoCap Man: Men With Balls, at www.mocapllc.com. The object of the game is to beat on the MoCap man with a variety of implements, including fists, guns and baseball bats.
