Gone, ‘Without a Trace’

May 19, 2009  •  Post A Comment

No surprise, but CBS has pulled the plug on “Without a Trace,” “The Unit” and “11th Hour.”
That’s the word from people familiar with the matter. All three shows had been at death’s door for weeks now.
There’s better news for “Cold Case,” “Numbers,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Gary Unmarried” and “Rules of Engagement.” They’ll all be back on CBS next season.

The network has never officially announced a pickup for “How I Met Your Mother.” But … duh. It’ll be back, too.
And it will be a major shocker if “Medium” doesn’t join the CBS lineup next season. NBC has official rights to the show through this week, though, and would have to give permission for CBS to announce it to advertisers tomorrow.
CBS Television Studios put out a statement today declaring NBC’s cancellation “inexplicable.” That statement could be legal cover for announcing a pickup tomorrow. Or just a visceral reaction to Ben Silverman’s comments earlier today.

  1. Funny that HIMYM is a “duh”-worthy show now. Last year we had no idea if it was coming back, and its finale was supposed to be the best they could do on short notice with a series/season finale. Now it’s a definite, no-question comeback. Glad it’s renewed but funny how things change.
