Sony Maps Strategy, Eyes Profits

Sony Corp. Chief Executive Howard Stringer promised that the company will be profitable in the TV and video game arenas during this fiscal year, which ends March 2009, the New York Times reports. The company plans to invest in networking gadgets that wirelessly connect electronic products to the Internet, the newspaper notes. The company will launch a service this fall in the U.S. that will download movies and TV shows from the Internet to Bravia TV without the use of cable or satellite systems, the newspaper notes.
