Fox Sports Net may scale back its national programming considerably due to the success of News Corp.’s Regional Sports Networks, Broadcasting & Cable reports. An elimination of national programming would mean an end to the network’s “Best Damn Sports Show Period,” “Sport Science,” “Amazing Sports Stories” and “Baseball’s Golden Age.” Recent events suggesting FSN is gearing up for this new emphasis on local programming are last week’s naming of Rich Battista as president and the exit of “Best Damn” executive producer John Entz to join Major League Baseball’s new network, B&C says.
