Microsoft and Verizon Wireless are discussing launching a competitor to Apple’s iPhone, now available only to AT&T customers, the Wall Street Journal reports. Microsoft’s cell phone software business has been eclipsed by enthusiasm for developing “apps” for the iPhone and Google’s Android, the paper says.
