‘Southland’ Pilot Makes Early Online, VOD Debut

Apr 2, 2009  •  Post A Comment

NBC is making the pilot for “ER” replacement “Southland” available on numerous on-demand and digital platforms a week before the show’s April 9 premiere.
Hulu and NBC.com have already started streaming the Warner Bros. TV-produced show, and iTunes is expected to make the show available for download today as well.
In addition, NBC has partnered with Comcast and Cox Cable, as well as Verizon’s FiOS service, to make the “Southland” pilot available for on-demand viewing.
NBC has premiered several of its pilots online before their broadcast bows in recent years, but the practice is not universal.
“Southland,” which stars Ben McKenzie and Tom Everett Scott, is from executive producers John Wells, Ann Biderman and Chris Chulack.
