Comcast Investors Worried It is Plotting Acquisition

Aug 18, 2009  •  Post A Comment

Comcast shares have hit close to their historical lows as some investors worry that all the cash the cable provider has been accumulating to manage its balance sheet will instead be used to make a major acquisition, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The speculation stems in part from Comcast’s daring, failed $54 billion bid for Disney in 2004. Investors are concerned that Comcast might try to go after Viacom or Time Warner and that wariness is what has sent Comcast shares down 11% this year.
