Les Paul, a true giant of the music industry, has passed away at age 94. If you have any interest in pop culture today, you need to know about Paul, and a wonderful place to start is this marvelous piece on Paul’s life published today by  New York Times music critic Jon Pareles.

Every rock musician worth his or her salt owes a debt of gratitude to Paul, and almost all say so.
