News Corp. is breaking up its STAR TV conglomerate of businesses in Asia, and laying off about 30% of the 500-person Hong Kong-based staff by next June, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

STAR CEO Paul Aiello is among those leaving. The company will regroup its businesses in two smaller units: STAR India and STAR Greater China. A channel management business will be merged into Fox International Channels.
