Scrutiny of New ABC Anchor Sawyer Won’t Be Limited to Her Credentials

Sep 4, 2009  •  Post A Comment

In her TVWeek.com Open Mic blog, contributor Hillary Atkin posits that while Diane Sawyer is an accomplished journalist and a classy woman, it won’t be just her considerable credentials that are pored over when she takes over for retiring ABC "World News" anchor Charles Gibson in four months. Expect Sawyer’s hairstyle, hair color, lipstick, weight and wardrobe to to be as much as part of the discussion, Atkin says.

  1. I think Diane Sawyer is the best choice to replace Gibson.

  2. This again? That paradigm exists only in the unimaginative musings of those still mired in the past – when TV News actually mattered. As millions more get news from different mediums, like, oh say, the internet… it’s the content of one’s news that will matter and not the color of their outfit.

  3. Nice blog here! Also your website loads up fast! What host are you using? I wish my website loaded up as fast as yours lol
