To commemorate the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation of the Gulf Coast, CNN will air a series of specials during the next two weeks revisiting the event and updating the recovery effort, reports TheWrap.

The shows will be broadcast across all the CNN platforms, emphasizing what happened then as well as "how far the region has come in its rebuilding efforts,” the network announced.

Among the shows are an Anderson Cooper special, “CNN Heroes: Coming Back From Katrina,” on Aug. 14; Soledad O’Brien’s "New Orleans Rising" on Aug. 21; and Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s Aug. 28 program covering the medical angle and revisiting a hospital where Gupta provided coverage during the crisis.
