Cyber Monday Trounces Black Friday; Surprising Number of Shoppers Bought Goods Using Their Smartphones

Furthermore, "Online sales on Cyber Monday surged nearly 20% from last year," the article says.

Also, according to the story, "Coremetrics said the average order value on Cyber Monday was $194.89, an increase of 8.3% from last year’s average of $180.03"

Purchases made by smartphones and other mobile devices were made by about 4% of Cyber Monday shoppers.

And the Internet is becoming more popular on Black Friday as well, the article notes, with online sales that day up 31% this year compared to last year.
