The Queen of Soul, legendary singer Aretha Franklin, is home from a Detroit hospital following surgery that was believed to be for pancreatic cancer, Reuters reports.
Franklin’s publicist has not confirmed that the singer has pancreatic cancer, although numerous sources have said that is her diagnosis.
In a statement, Franklin, 68, said of her illness, "I’ve been at home for almost three days now. My family and friends who brought me home are taking great care of me. I also have a private nurse who visits on a daily basis."
A spokeswoman said the singer is “in great spirits.”
Franklin has canceled her performances for the next several months.
