Did Michael Jackson Kill Himself? That’s What His Doctor Is Expected to Argue as Trial Looms

The former personal physician of Michael Jackson is due in court next week, and prosecutors expect his legal team to attempt to make the case that the singer administered the lethal dose of propofol himself, MTV reports.

Dr. Conrad Murray is the only person who has been charged in Jackson’s death last year at age 50. He is accused of involuntary manslaughter and has admitted giving Jackson propofol, an anesthetic the singer used as a sleep aid. Murray has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors say Murray gave Jackson a deadly mix of propofol and other painkillers and sedatives shortly before Jackson died on June 25, 2009.

As reported earlier, Michael Jackson fans and others are in an uproar over plans by Discovery Channel to televise a re-creation of the singer’s autopsy as the trial nears.
