Local television advertising sales jumped by 31.7% in the third quarter compared with a year earlier, far outpacing network television ad sales, which grew at just 2.7%, reports B&C.

The numbers come from a survey from TVB and Kantar Media, which also showed that ads on syndicated television slipped 1.2% during the period. Local television got the boost from political spending, the article adds. But 22 out of the top 25 advertising categories were also up at local stations, with automotive ads jumping 74.1% from a year earlier.
