New York Daily News gossip columnists George Rush and Joanna Molloy have filed a $30,000 lawsuit against MTV, VH1, their parent Viacom and two production companies for breach of contract, reports Deadline.com.

According to the suit, Rush and Molloy pitched a reality TV show about their assistants at work, Sean Evans and Shallon Lester, which evolved into the show "Downtown Girls." The show focused on Lester and a few other female assistants not connected to Rush and Molloy.

Rush and Molloy allege they did not receive the producer credit or fees they were promised. The show ran for six episodes on MTV during summer 2010.

MTV said through a spokesperson that the network had not yet reviewed the claim.

  1. MTV is well known for stealing content. If you WORK for them, in development, HR, accounting or any dept. for that matter and you have an idea, MTV owns it. it’s in your employment contract.

  2. Good Stuff. Thank you. Also check out http://www.kmusikonline.com

  3. I really like the colors here on your blog. did you design this yourself or did you outsource it to a professional?
