On a slow Monday night for the broadcast networks, NBC’s season finale of "The Sing-Off" and preview of a new sitcom failed to made much of a splash in the Nielsen overnights, reports TVbytheNumbers.com. But the combination was enough to give NBC a ratings win for the night.
NBC finished with an average rating of 2.2 in adults 18-49 for the night, ahead of Fox and CBS (both with 1.9 ratings), Univision (1.6) and ABC (1.3). CBS won total viewers with an average of 7.4 million to 6.7 million for NBC, 5.8 million for ABC and 5.3 million for Fox.
At 8 p.m. the first hour of the finale of "The Sing-Off" averaged a 2.75 in the 18-49 demo for the hour, while the premiere of Fox’s "Million Dollar Money Drop" had a mean score of 1.9 in the same demo. ABC’s "Skating With the Stars" averaged a 0.95.
At 9 p.m. the second hour of "The Sing-Off" fell to a 2.55 average rating in 18-49 for the hour, while hour two of "Million Dollar Money Drop" was up slightly to a 1.95 in the 18-49 demo.
NBC previewed the new sitcom "Perfect Couples" at 10 p.m., where it managed only a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demo up against all reruns.
