With Success of ‘Sing-Off’ on NBC, Producer Joel Gallen Signs First-Look Deal with Sony Pictures TV

Joel Gallen, the executive producer of the NBC series "The Sing-Off", has signed a one-year first-look deal with Sony Pictures TV, the studio that’s producing the hit singing competition show, reports Deadline.com.

Gallen moved into television series with MTV’s reality show "America’s Best Dance Crew" after spending 25 years working in specials, such as producing the last seven Comedy Central Roasts and the "MTV Movie Awards" from 1995-2006, the article notes.

"America’s Best Dance Crew" is heading into its sixth season, it adds.

  1. How impressed I am with the show Sing-Off. I congratulate you for keeping it up beat, positive without too much hype. Except for the loooooong wait to hear the winner, The attitude of appreciation of people who, obviously, want to beome stars is refreshing. It seems “mutual respect” abounds. Please do not get tainted with the media hype of sensationalism that so many other network shows have sucummed to. Sing-Off is fresh and exhibits great talent and appreciation of performers. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
