Anne Francis, TV’s ‘Honey West,’ Dead at 80

Anne Francis, who starred as a sexy private detective in the 1960s show “Honey West,” has died at the age of 80, the AP reports.

Francis died Sunday in a Santa Barbara, Calif., nursing home following a bout with pancreatic cancer.

Francis had a successful film career, including starring roles in "Forbidden Planet" and "Bad Day at Black Rock," as well as showy supporting roles in such films as "Funny Girl" in 1968.

She appeared in numerous episodic TV shows, including "Mission Impossible," "The Virginian," "My Three Sons," "Ironside," "Gunsmoke," "The Twilight Zone," "Charlie’s Angels," "The Golden Girls," "Home Improvement" and "Nash Bridges."

She was nominated for an Emmy in 1966 for her performance as the iconic female private eye Honey West, and received a Golden Globe for the role that same year.
