Oscar-nominated actor Pete Postlethwaite, who was most recently seen with Ben Affleck in the drama "The Town," died Sunday at the age of 64, according to People magazine.
The veteran character actor died in a Shropshire, England, hospital where he had been battling cancer. Postlethwaite is survived by his wife, Jacqui, son Will and daughter Lily.
In addition to films such as "Amistad," "Clash of the Titans" and "The Omen," Postlethwaite appeared in many television productions, including the 2008 miniseries "Criminal Justice."
Postlethwaite was nominated for an Academy Award in 1994 for his supporting role in “In the Name of the Father.” He won the National Board of Review Award in 1995 as part of an acting ensemble in “The Usual Suspects.”
