Comedian Pulling the Plug on Successful Cable Show

A popular cable reality show is ending its run after six seasons as its star shifts her focus to comedy specials with an eye on getting back into sitcoms, People.com reports.

Kathy Griffin said she’s ending her Bravo show "My Life on the D-List" because "it was really time to stop doing it," the story says.

"Reality is great, but I really didn’t set out to be a reality star. So now it’s time to spread my wings and show that I’m a little different than Kate Gosselin," Griffin said.

The comedian added that she won’t be leaving Bravo, but instead will create four new comedy specials for the network, which will air each quarter in 2011, the article notes. Griffin also would like to return to sitcoms with an improvised series, similar to the style of "Curb Your Enthusiasm,” the story adds.
