Former Huffington Post Chief Executive Hired by Glenn Beck to Run His New Web Site

Betsy Morgan, who served as chief executive of the liberal-leaning Huffington Post for two years, has been tapped by Glenn Beck to run his new Web site, The Blaze, reports The New York Times’ Media Decoder blog.

The Blaze, four months old, is aimed at gathering news articles and opinion pieces that appeal to Beck’s conservative viewers and listeners, the story notes. While Morgan’s shift from a left-leaning to a conservative Web site raised some eyebrows, she said, "I am a very apolitical person. I’m a business person, who is absolutely fascinated by brands."

She added that while some of Beck’s views have led to problems with advertisers, her goal at The Blaze is to "leverage the huge loyalty of that audience.”
