NPR Exec Involved in Juan Williams Firing Steps Down

Jan 6, 2011  •  Post A Comment

A senior executive who played a key role in firing commentator Juan Williams has resigned from his post with National Public Radio, CBS News reports.

NPR’s Board of Directors confirmed that Vice President Ellen Weiss has stepped down, but gave no other details about Weiss.

According to the story: “The board also expressed concern over the roll that CEO Vivian Schiller, who famously said Williams should have kept his opinions between him and his shrink, had in the firing. Although it ruled out terminating Schiller’s employment, it said she would not receive a salary bonus for 2010.”

NPR fired Williams over comments he made on Fox News about getting nervous when he flies on a plane with people whose clothing identifies them as Muslim.

  1. Nice blog here! Also your website loads up fast! What host are you using? I wish my website loaded up as fast as yours lol

  2. Some of these are on the expensive side. If you get into the vintage ones, you can be talking some serious cash, especially considering what it cost to produce it..
