One of the stars of "Sex and the City" will be featured in an episode of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" that’s inspired by the troubled Broadway musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark," reports TVLine.com.

Cynthia Nixon will play Amanda Reese, the high-strung director behind a fictional troubled Broadway show called "Icarus," the story says. Reese gets out of control after a sabotaged stunt leads to the death of an actor while on stage.

The "Law & Order" franchise has proved fruitful for Nixon, who won an Emmy in 2007 for her guest role as a woman with multiple personalities on "Law & Order: SVU.”
