One of the nation’s top media agencies has a new CEO.

Marla Kaplowitz is set to succeed Lee Doyle as North America CEO of MEC. Ms. Kaplowitz will report to MEC global CEO Charles Courtier and join the agency’s global executive committee, effective immediately.

She joined the company in March of this year as president of U.S. clients and head of planning. Prior to joining MEC, she was exec VP-managing director at Publicis’ MediaVest, leading the Procter & Gamble planning assignment for North America.

Mr. Courtier said in a statement: "She is exactly the right kind of modern strategic leader we need to re-energize our operations and drive positive change for the agency. I’m delighted that she has accepted the challenge to take MEC North America into the future."

The announcement follows the news in late September that Mr. Doyle would step down after a tough year on the new-business front.

"It was a mutual decision in the midst of looking ahead at what 2012 has in store and what I think the agency needs," Mr. Doyle told Ad Age at the time. "I’m pretty proud of where we’ve gotten so far, but there’s a need for different leadership as we go forward. It’s time to set a new vision for North America."

It’s not yet clear what will be his next move. For now, he’s helping with the transition and he’s in talks about another potential post within MEC parent WPP.

According to LinkedIn, Mr. Doyle and Ms. Kaplowitz both worked at Ammirati Puris Lintas from 1996 until 1999, the year it merged with Lowe.

  1. I love Tyrion Lannister. Peter Dinklage performs really amazing in game of thrones. He is small, but he presents a way he is attractive and cunning. Personally, I think there is some sad thoughts deep in Tyrion’s mind. He loves his family but his father hates him because of her mother’s death when gave birth to him. More, his father and brother plan the thing for him to prostitute and ruin love for him because the girl he first falls in love with is proved to be a prostitute. Then he speaks something to Jon Snow, the bastard son of Lord Eddard, which shows his wisdom and bitter feelings in his heart. Anyway, Peter is amazing in this show. I love him!
