‘Munsters’ Reboot Suffers a Setback

Feb 10, 2012  •  Post A Comment

Production on the pilot for NBC’s remake of "The Munsters" has been pushed back to June after the production ran into difficulties with casting, reports Deadline.com.

The story doesn’t specify the casting problems the project has encountered. The project, which has been titled "Mockingbird Lane," has Bryan Singer of "The Usual Suspects” and “X-Men" attached to direct.

As previously reported, Bryan Fuller of “Pushing Daisies” is behind the project.

  1. So they are remaking The Munsters now? It has been shown that TV show Remakes usually fail, so how about using just a tiny bit more creativity and try crossover remakes that would combine two or more old shows? I give a list of amusing or horrifying suggestions in a post at http://www.ragingwisdom.com/?p=704 Enjoy!

  2. First of all, the article you cite as your source for “TV remakes usually fail” is so fault-ridden and fact-stacked that it almost completely invalidates its own premise. The fact that the author discounts one of the most successful remakes in TV history, “The Outer Limits”, because “it was Canadian and syndicated and therefore irrelevant” is complete & utter bullshit. The series ran in Showtime in the States and was Canadian the same way “Smallville” was Canadian – they were both made there because it was cheaper than LA. There are a lot of other factual errors with the articles but I don’t have the time or desire to list all of them.
As a jumping off point for your series mash up tangent (yes, some people do read the comments!), it was amusing.
