Actress Who Had a High-Profile Feud With Chuck Lorre Poised to Join Charlie Sheen’s ‘Anger Management’

An actress who, like Charlie Sheen, has had a high-profile battle with “Two and a Half Men” creator Chuck Lorre is in final negotiations to join Sheen’s new show, TheWrap.com reports.

Brett Butler, the former "Grace Under Fire" star, appears poised to sign on with “Anger Management,” Sheen’s upcoming FX comedy series. She would play a recurring role as a bartender at the bar Sheen’s character frequents, the story reports.

The story reports: “Sheen and Butler share more than a common series; like Sheen, Butler locked horns with Sheen’s former ‘Two and a Half Men’ boss Chuck Lorre, who created and executive-produced ‘Grace Under Fire’ until he was removed from production duties due to the pair’s arguments over control of the show and Butler’s character.”

Sheen’s own battle with Lorre got even bigger headlines and included Sheen’s ouster from “Two and a Half Men.” Sheen later sued Lorre and show producer Warner Bros., reportedly settling for $25 million.

The story adds: "The parallels don’t end there; in the later seasons of ‘Grace Under Fire,’ Butler developed a painkiller addiction, which prompted ABC to pull the plug on the series in 1998. Toward the end of his run with ‘Two and a Half Men,’ Sheen, who has been open in the media about his past drug use, entered rehab early last year, forcing the show into hiatus."

"Anger Management," which also stars Selma Blair and Shawnee Smith, is set to premiere June 28 on FX.
