Netflix Scraps Plans to Rescue ‘Terra Nova’

"Terra Nova" is apparently now history, as Netflix and the show’s producer haven’t been able to come to terms on an agreement to keep the show going on the streaming service, reports Deadline.com.

Nevertheless, 20th Century Fox TV isn’t yet releasing the actors, although there aren’t any other viable buyers, meaning that there’s a "minimal" chance the show could stay alive, according to the piece.

While the studio has revived shows such as "Futurama" years after they were canceled, it’s unlikely that "Terra Nova" could share this fate, given the expense and elaborate sets of the live-action time-traveling series, the story points out.

Three of the show’s actors have also already been cast in new projects, with star Jason O’Mara taking a role in CBS’s Ralph Lamb drama pilot, the piece notes.

Netflix also announced recently that it’s interested in taking on ABC’s "The River," as previously reported.
