Boosted by a rare ratings achievement from a new show, ABC claimed a ratings win Sunday night in the key 18-49 demo, TVbytheNumbers.com reports.

The controversial new series “GCB” may have been aided by protests against the show over its outrageous content, as previously reported. "GCB" became the first scripted show of the season to post a gain in viewers 18-49 in its second week, the New York Daily News reports. “GCB” posted a 2.3 average rating in the demo, up from a 2.2 for its premiere a week earlier.

ABC’s overall 2.3 average rating for prime time put the Alphabet Network on top in the 18-49 demo, followed by CBS (2.1 average), Fox (2.0) and NBC (1.5). CBS won total viewers with an average of 10.1 million, followed by ABC (7.8 million), NBC (6.6 million) and Fox (4.3 million).

ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” was down a hefty 18% from a week ago with a 2.8 in 18-49, while “Desperate Housewives” was even with a 2.5. CBS’s “The Good Wife” hit a series low with a 1.7, off 11% from last week.

NBC continued to struggle to find an audience for “Harry’s Law,” with its move from Wednesday to Sunday producing a 1.1 rating in adults 18-49, matching its series low. NBC’s two-hour “Celebrity Apprentice” did better, with a 2.0, but that was off 13% from a week earlier.

  1. I’m sure Celebrity Apprentice would do alot better if Trump would exit from the show. Put his daughter in charge. Much easier to look at and listen to.
