Sunday’s prime-time ratings were mediocre or worse across the broadcast spectrum, with CBS, fueled in part by overrun from The Masters golf tournament, rising to the top of a short heap, TVbytheNumbers.com reports.
NBC’s all-original lineup of low-rated shows was good enough for second place in the Nielsen overnights. The highlight for the Peacock Network was a two-hour “Celebrity Apprentice,” which was up 11% from its previous installment to a 2.0 average in adults 18-49.
ABC and Fox aired lineups heavy on repeat programming and settled for subpar numbers.
When the dust settled, CBS had a 2.3 average rating in the 18-49 demo, with the disclaimer that it will be subject to more than the usual adjustments due to the live sports broadcast. Well behind was NBC with a 1.5 average in 18-49, followed by ABC with a 1.4 and Fox with a 1.3.
Total viewers for prime time overall also went to CBS with 10.8 million, followed by NBC with 6.4 million, ABC with 4.7 million and Fox with 2.8 million.
ABC’s only fresh programming was back-to-back episodes of “GCB,” which earned a modest 1.7 and 1.9 in the 18-49 demo. Fox broke out a new “Family Guy” and settled for a 1.8.
