Bill O’Reilly Goes After ‘Glee’

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly vented on his show "The O’Reilly Factor" last week about the most recent episode of Fox’s "Glee," the New York Daily News reports.

O’Reilly took offense at a plot point about a young man, played by Alex Newell, who expressed the feelings of a transgender youth and later performed on stage as a woman.

O’Reilly said showing this character espousing transgender ideas and appearing in women’s clothes would give viewers similar thoughts. Said O’Reilly, “If you make the behavior of these people … if children hear it, unsupervised children, OK, who don’t have parents watching their — they might go out and experiment with this stuff.”

Judge Jeanine Pirro, a guest on O’Reilly’s show, responded skeptically, saying, "Do you really think that this is the kind of thing that’s contagious?"

O’Reilly answered, "I don’t know," but cited the example of his being influenced to smoke at a young age because he had seen James Dean light up cigarettes on screen.

  1. By that standard, Bill, you shouldn’t be on the air either, as watching you will turn children into bilious blowhards.

  2. Yeah, Bill, kids will see what fun it is to be taunted, hated and have the crap beat out of them on a regular basis (not to mention becoming part of the only subculture in American society that it’s still legal to openly discriminate against, fire from jobs and evict from homes for no reason, etc) that they’ll want rush right out and ‘recruit’ everyone the meet (which is really what you’re worried about, isn’t it, Billy-boy?)!

  3. Unbelievable. Ken is right on target, but what amuses me is that this is one of Rupert’s shows and one that make him a lot of money. I think Billy Boy has just stepped on his own organ.

  4. Does laughter on television cause an outbreak of laughter on the streets?

  5. To the point, succinct and most importantly, the truth.
The world has more than enough bilious blowhards. We don’t need any more of them.
