Rumors have been circulating that Kristen Wiig plans to leave “Saturday Night Live,” and the longtime cast member has revealed her own thoughts on the matter. She responded to the rumors during an appearance on Alec Baldwin’s WNYC radio show "Here’s the Thing," according to a transcript of the program.

After Baldwin asked about her contract ending this year, Wiig noted, "Well, everyone has to leave."

The “Bridesmaids” star added: "I will say that when I do leave it’s not because I’m sick of it and not because I see something better or anything like that. It’s just that it’s time. When I do leave, it will be the hardest thing. I mean, you know. You’re there for a week and on Saturday night you’re sad because you leave these people.”

She noted that she’s in her seventh year on the show, and added: “You have to leave things that you love.”

Asked what her prospects are if she leaves "SNL," Wiig responded: "I don’t know. I may go back to open up a canoe shop."
