New Reality Show Is Sort of a Pregnant Version of ‘Biggest Loser’

A new reality show from TLC combines elements of “The Biggest Loser” with shows focusing on pregnancy, Entertainment Weekly reports.

"Obese & Expecting" tracks four morbidly obese women who are also moms-to-be, the story reports. The show will seriously examine the issues that surface as the women attempt to survive pregnancy while dealing with health issues surrounding their weight — and while confronting the potential effects of their weight issues on the unborn babies.

TLC said in a statement: “These women are challenging the perception — and the odds — of obese pregnancies, as they become moms, no matter their size or complications.”

"Obese & Expecting" will bow May 17 as a one-hour special and a potential back-door pilot. A companion show also focused on pregnancy issues, “Birth Moms,” will also air that night. “Birth Moms” follows three women in a Utah adoption facility struggling with the decision on whether to give up their babies.

  1. You can always count on TLC to come up with shows like this. I’m kind of interested in watching. 🙂
