The 71st Annual Peabody Awards were announced today by the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, and among the 38 honorees were series on HBO, Showtime and NBC along with one of the big shows in syndication.
That last program is "Jeopardy!," honored for "encouraging, celebrating and rewarding knowledge," according to the Peabodys announcement.
The NBC series honored is "Parks and Recreation." From Showtime, "Homeland" received a Peabody, and the two HBO series honored are "Games of Thrones" and "Treme."
