Lindsay Lohan was involved in a traffic collision when a Porsche she was driving collided with an 18-wheeler, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Ministry of Gossip.

She wasn’t under the influence when the crash occurred Friday, although the collision on the Pacific Coast Highway is still under investigation, the piece notes. She had been driving to the "Liz & Dick" set, and continued there after spending two hours at UCLA Medical Center.

Lohan made it to the set at 4:30 p.m., hours after her call time, reports Deadline.com.

"Liz & Dick" producer Larry A. Thompson said the actress was "shaken but not stirred," according to the Deadline story. He added that Lohan, who has had recent brushes with the law, wasn’t supposed to drive. The production provides a limo for the actress, according to the story.

"When they went to pick her up today, for some reason she decided they (Lohan and her assistant) would get in her own car, so the limousine driver followed them," Thompson said.

The accident occurred just four days after filming started on the Lifetime biopic, in which Lohan plays Elizabeth Taylor. The news led to some anxious moments for Thompson and the rest of the crew as they initially did not know whether Lohan was OK.

"I was nervous before the movie started; now I’m just petrified,” Thompson said, according to the Deadline piece.

  1. “He added that Lohan, who has had recent brushes with the law, wasn’t supposed to drive.”
Sounds like even after all she has been through, she still hasn’t learn how to behave like a responsible adult.

  2. In order to learn how to be a responsible adult, you generally have to start out as a relatively well mannered child. She failed that miserably.

  3. More like her parent’s failed her — miserably.
